Day 1 – Santiago – Valparaiso – Chile

Arrival in Santiago. Welcome to the airport and departure for the mythical port of Valparaíso, classified World Heritage of Humanity in 2003. Discover the old districts by taking the elevators that pace the hill, classified national monuments. Night in Valparaiso.

Day 2– Valparaiso – Pucon – Chile

Discover the Bellavista district and visit La Sebastiana, Pablo Neruda’s favourite residence. You will discover the whole universe of the poet with unusual collections and fetish objects. Visit of the biggest seaside resort of the country, Viña del Mar, renowned for its beaches. Transfer to Santiago. Flight Santiago / Temuco (1h15 flight). Car hire at the airport. Departure to Pucón, a lively summer city located on the shores of Villarrica Lake. The city has lots of thermal baths, due to the presence of many volcanos, which most famous is the majestic Villarica. Night in Pucón.

Day 3 – Lakes & volcanos – San Martin de Los Andes – Argentina

Discovery trail of Villarica and Huerqueque National Parks. Crossing the Argentina border to the South to reach Junin de Los Andes and San Martin de Los Andes. Night in San Martin de Los Andes.

Day 4 – Lakes & volcanos – San Carlos de Bariloche – Argentina

Discover the village and its surroundings, climb to Chapelco ski station from where you can enjoy a panoramic view over the lakes and volcanoes. Route through Nahuel Huapi National Park, the oldest park in Argentina, wich covers 750,000ha until the Chilean border. The park has a very abundant fauna and flora, many wild animals live there such as the famous and endangered Pudù and Huemul, Pumas and Guanacos (from the camelid family). There is also a wide variety of water birds: wild ducks, geese, black-necked swans…This rich and harmonious setting is a feast for the eyes. Arrival in San Carlos de Bariloche, by the lake and at the foot of the Andes Cordillera. Night in San Carlos de Bariloche.

Day 5 – Lakes & volcanos – San Carlos de Bariloche – Argentina

Discovery of Llao Llao Peninsula. Take the cable-car to the small Campanario Mountain which offers a superb panoramic view over Nahuel Huapi Lake and the Park. In the afternoon, boat trip on the Lake. Visit of Quetrihue peninsula and Arrayanes forest, with its unique cinnamon colour trees that you can only see in Japan and Argentina. Lunch on Victoria Island. Night in San Carlos de Bariloche.

Day 6 – Villa Angostura – Argentina

Departure for Villa Angostura along Nahuel Huapi Lake. Discovery of this small town made of carved wood. Chile border’s crossing. Night Entre Lagos.

Day 7 – Lakes & volcanos – Puerto Varas – Chile

In the morning, departure to the South to reach the small towns of Frutillar and Puerto Octay, looking like Bavaria region. Arrival in the small town of Puerto Varas, located on the shores of Llanquihue Lake, where its waters reflect the majestic Osorno volcano and its snowy summit. Return of the rental car to the airport. Flight to Puerto Montt / Balmaceda (1:20 flight). Take the rental car at the airport. Departure for Coihaique, visit of the small town and its artisanal market. Night in Coihaique.

Day 8 – Southern Carretera – Carrera Lake – Chile

Departure for the unique Carretera southern track. Stop at Manos de Cerro Castle, classified National Monument, where you can observe some rock paintings made by the Tehuelches Indians. Little detour to reach a splendid route that leads to Exploradores Glacier. Arrival in Puerto Guadal. Night in General Carrera Lake.

Day 9 – Southern Carretera – Carrera Lake – Chile

In the morning, small hike to Maqui River waterfalls (2 to 3 hour walk). In the afternoon, relaxing or round-trip hike along Lake Carrera, following a superb route on the mountainside. Night in General Carrera Lake.

Day 10 – Caleta Tortel – Chile

Departure southward for Caleta Tortel, small village of Chilean Patagonia, located between two ice fields. A beautiful place with its houses on stilts, fishing boats, footbridge and endless stairs to the sea that form the streets of this small village. Breathe the smell of the cypress trees. The village has been declared Typical Zone National Monument, part of Chile’s Cultural Patrimony. Night in Caleta Tortel.

Day 11 – Puerto Tranquilo – Chile

Crossing northward of the southern carretera to reach Puerto Màrmol. On the way, visit of Tamango National Reserve, created for the protection of huemules (from deer family). Departure late afternoon by boat to Carrera Lake, to visit the Marble Chapel, a fantastic labyrinth of caves made by the waves. Night in Puerto Tranquillo.

Day 12 – Punta Arenas – Valparaiso – Chile

Return of the rental car to the airport. Flight Balmaceda / Punta Arenas (2h15 flight). Transfer to the hotel. Night in Punta Arenas.

Day 13 – Torres del Paine National Park – Chile

Departure for Torres del Paine National Park, one of the most beautiful parks in Chile, classified Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1978. The park has an incredibly wide range of flora and fauna. The high mountain massifs culminate at 3000m and are surrounded by lakes, glaciers, waterfalls and rivers. The area is home to colonies of flamingos, black-collared swans and a wide range of birds as the Andes condor. Along the trails you can observe herds of guanacos, ñandus and other wild mammals who have been protected from hunting for decades. Night in the Park.

JDay 14 – Torres del Paine National Park – Chile

Discovery tour of the park with various hiking trails and panoramic points. Arriving in Puerto Natales by the end of the day. Visit of the small town and its harbour. Night in Puerto Natales.

Day 15 – El Calafate – Argentina

Crossing of the border and the Argentinean Pampa to reach El Calafate, starting point of excursions to Glaciers National Park. Visit of the small town. Night in El Calafate.

Day 16 – El Calafate – Argentina

Discover the Perito Moreno Glacier in Glacier National Park. This huge 55-meter-high, 15-kilometer-long and 5-kilometer-width glacier runs the flow of Argentina Lake. It is common that huge ten-ton blocks break from the glacier and come crashing down the icy waters. This exceptional sight can be observed from wooden balconies within hundred metres on the shore. Possibilities of mini trekking on the glacier. Night in El Calafate.

Day 17 – Ushuaia – Argentina

Transfer to the airport. Flight El Calafate / Ushuaia (1h15 flight).Transfer to the hotel. Visit of the city, its harbour and prison. Night in Ushuaia.

Day 18 – Ushuaia – Argentina

Visit of Land of Fire National Park and its 63,000 hectares of forest, coasts, rivers, falls and deep valleys, which extends westward to the Chilean border. In the afternoon departure by catamaran to the Beagle Canal (weather permitting), connecting the two oceans, 150 km from Cape Horn. Sailing towards an island with many birds (Imperial and Magellan cormorants) and sea lions. The catamaran approaches the rocks where the seals are piled up to hear their strange cries. Passing in front of the “End of the World Lighthouse” and Estancia Haberton, the oldest estancia which is now autarkic, then head to Magellan’s penguins Island. Night in Hosteria Los Fuegos, Ushuaia.

Day 19 – Ushuaia (Argentina) – Punta Arenas (Chile)

Bus transfer to Punta Arenas, Chile (10-hour drive). Crossing of the Fire Land on Argentina side then Chile side. Boat transfer on Magellan Strait. Arrival at Punta Arenas by the end of the day. Night in Punta Arenas.

Day 20 – Punta Arenas – Santiago – Chile

Transfer to the airport. Flight to Punta Arenas / Santiago (3h30 flight). Transfer to the hotel. Visit of the historic center of the capital, Plaza de Armas and its historic buildings: La Moneda (presidential palace), Casa Colorada (colonial house), San Francisco Church (the oldest building in Santiago). Visit of Santa Lucia park, located on the hill where the city was founded. Night in Santiago.

Day 21 – Santiago – Chile

Transfer to the airport – International flight.
